What's happened to this NG?

Looks like lots of *unrelated* posts are now showing up on this NG.

I have been using this NG since the early 1990's, and the shared
    information has been invaluable.

Is there another forum for Chrysler products that doesn't have all the
    unrelated posts?

    Thanks,

    KM

Would you prefer a forum for Chrysler in general or would specific
platform forums (examples: PT, LH cars, Jeep, LX, etc.) work for you?

I guess that I would like a general forum, since I have a couple of JA
    cars, and a van.

Nice to see that you are still here, Bill.

Unfortunately, this along with most other newsgroups are getting all
kinds of spam mail, most listed over and over again. Other newsgroups,
from music, to radios to cars, all are being affected. Just my
    observation.

    Thanks.

I don't know about the JA's or Van forums. I would suggest Googling.
You'll probably find several "forums" but many are little more than
    advertising for an aftermarket company.

See what you can find on www.allpar.com.

Maybe the news server I use filters those sort of things out - I see
very little of that here. But the volume of on-topic posting here seems
to have fallen off over the months.

Totally agree with you! My spam emails(majority of mail) can't even be
filtered any more because the subject line as an example tends to be
jibberish. Iside the usual...penis pills!. If you want a forum that sticks
to the topic then you have to find something else other then abusnet.

There has been a deluge of spam posts across most of Usenet lately. Nearly
all of these messages are originating from google groups, so filtering out
google groups helps the signal to noise ratio tremendously. Although there
are web based alternatives, I really like the newsgroup as a common place to
share information using the reader of our choice, but a standard group. Web
sites can come and go, but google has been great at providing a common
archive that is readily searchable to find past suggestions and
    informationn.

That being said, there are some great LH web forums out there that are very
    useful.

Hopefully this spam will be cut off soon. Usenet has been patrolled by
volunteers for years that have cancelled spam/unsolicited sales messages and
made the groups useful for legitimate users. They appear be overwhelmed at
the moment, but I'm sure google itself could come up with a solution.
