    Hi guys.
I have a chrysler cirrus 1995. It has a starter which also unlocks the
doors. It's not a chrysler product, I've had it installed.
Today when going to my car, I press the unlock button on the remote, and all
of a sudden all fronts lights starting flashing like a police car, the dome
light did the same thing, and the horn was honking like somebody triggered
    an alarm.
I've tried everything from putting the key in the ignition to starting the
car, it just won't stop doing it.
Also, the engine starts, runs about 4-5 seconds and then stalls.
I've checked al fuses, I've tried every possible combination on the remote
    starter, nothing works.
I unpluged the battery and repluged it back in and still no go.
The only thing I've noticed that shouldn't do that is the front lights relay
is clicking in sync with the front lights going on and off.
If somebody knows what it is or where to start or to look, please give your
    opinion.
    thanks.

    Sorin.

ps: the car has been running great up to this point, no problems at all!
the only thing that I did with it in the last month was disconnecting the
little wire from the door, because it didn't work anymore and I had the
    message DOOR on the dash.
I've pluged it back in, no difference.

thanks a ton to everybody who can share on this.

  2. Stuff like this *frequently* causes electrical system problems.
Sounds like you found the "Panic button" function.
Yep, sounds like you found the "Panic button" function.

If your unit isn't supposed to have such a function, it's gone wrong. I
wish you the best of luck getting it fixed.

    Hi Daniel.
    Thanks for the info.
The remote starter has been in the car for a few years, never had any
    problems...
Is the panic button related to the remote starter, or the car itself?
The car is a chrysler cirrus 1995 2.5L, automatic.

Aftermarket electronics are the pits. They cause more problems than
anything. Alot is due to the people doing the install but anythime you mess
with an engineered system like the BCM etc. you're asking for trouble.

guys, I've bypassed and even disconected the remote starter.
The car does the same thing! The lights are flashing and the horn goes the
same as a car with an alarm on it.
I've disconected the battery for a few hours, still the same thing. It
starts and runs for about 3 seconds and it stops. I hear the front lights
relay clicking , and that's it.
Also, the tachometer stopped working when I start the car.
Does somebody know where this kind of problem can originate? Can it be the
    computer?
Is this a safety feature on the car where if something major on the car
fails the car would react like this?
    ( I doubt it)....
    let me know please.

You may also want to reconnect that door sensor wire as a test.

There may be some use that the alarm system is making of the door wire.
