UK Voyager Cup holders

Anyone any idea why the UK voyager's front cupholders are not the nice pop
out type as in the USA. The UK version is two useless spots at the rear of
the gearstick which dont hold a cup when driving. Has anyone any idea? I
thought of fitting a US one but the tray is slightly curved for a left hand
drive vehicle

North American Voyagers don't have floor-mounted gearsticks. They all have
column-shift automatics.
