Taking off alternator on 89 New Yorker

    How do I take the belt off the alternator on the 89 New Yorker with the 3.0?
    I don't know which direction to go on the BELT TENSIONER up or down. Do I
    have to loosen the nut on the BELT TENSIONER ?

    Clockwise relieves tension.

    Do I
    No.

    Study the belt routing carefully before you take it apart. Just a bit of
    advice.
