I know I have read in this NG about some intake rings or something that goes
bad on the 3.5 to cause a rough idle.
How can I test for it?
Is it something Chrysler will fix under an extended warrantee?
How much to fix if they won't?

    Thanks

    Lower intake manifold gaskets.
    Successful test methods include;
    Smoke machine.
Flooding the suspect area with propane and noting any apparent
    change in engine idle quality.
You'd have to ask Mr. Chrysler, but so far and considering you
have a 7 year old vehicle, I doubt it.
Two hours labor and $25-$30 for parts.

I am not sure about the rings going bad in a 3.5, but I do know that the
intake manifold gasket has a tendancy to lose it's seal, creating a
vaccume leak. This is a common problem with the 3.5 from what I have read.

Extended Warrantee???? I've got a 2004 T&C that acts like it wants to die
when you are stopped at a red light, and it's warm. It's been to the dealer
3 times for this, and they say it's "normal" for the newer Chrysler vehicles
to idle like crap. Calls to DC resulted in them telling me to call my
dealer. It sounds like yours is "running just like new" to me.

Been there, done that. Cost me $20 for parts, took 4 hours to fix it. See
    this url for more info:

Why on earth would you go back to a dealer like that? Its obviously an
    idiotic statement, find another dealer.
