Reset Check Engine for 96 Stratus

Does anyone know how to get the Check Engine Light to reset on a 96
Dodge Stratus, 2.4L engine. Any help would be much appreciated,

Disconnect battery for 10 minutes.

If it came on shortly after you filled the gas tank, check if the the
gas cap is tight. 3 clicks should do it.

Disconnect the battery for a while -- 30 min.?? Less??

But why did the light go on in the first place?
