Whenever the auto climate control kicks on the air conditioning there is a
compressed air blowing thru a can kind of noise coming from the vent region.
If I turn off the air but leave the climate control on - the noise stops.
It's not the fan and its not the same noise you hear when the system changes
    mode from defrost to vent.

    Any Ideas?

  2. This is the sound the system makes when it is low on refrigerant. You're
hearing refrigerant bubbles being forced rapidly through the TXV.

Close Daniel but not correct! Yes, it is the sound you'll hear with a
charge level which is on the low side of nominal. But the actual noise is a
resonance created in the tubing between the expansion valve and the
evaporator by the rapidly evaporating liquid. Poor design, high pressure
drop area. It is very much a known promblem with the gen 1 and gen 2 LH
    evaporator systems.

What need to be done to fix it?

    Just recharge the AC?
