I have been bothered for a long time by the gas cap hanging down
against my paint, whenever I put gas in the car. It's put too many
scratches/scuffs in my paint. I thought about removing the leesh, but
I don't want to lose my gas cap.

Anyway, I came up with this idea, decided to call it The GasCap Caddy,
got patent and trademark pending protection and amd now selling units
from the first production. Volume and dealership orders welcome.

    Check it out. Take care.

Wow! $10 for a $.50 piece of plastic.

My 98 ram already had it built in and my wife's Grand Cherokee already has
it built in, not bad for a car with out one.

I prefer the leash. And if you are worried about paint scratches (never
seen any in multple cars) couldn't you hang it on the hinge using the leash?

  5. 50 Cents for the plastic, $9.50 for the idea...

I am surprised at the need. I thought most cars had some sort of holder in
    the cap.

You should see th hinge on my Cruiser, from using it instead of some
sort of caddy. Same thing, but to a lesser degree hence the hinge
damage, for where the leash hits the side.

You're right, some vehicles do some with something similar. Some have
a leash and some have nothing at all - even within a particular
manufacturer it can vary between makes/models. Thankfully, not all
cars come with a caddy device, in fact most don't. The beauty also
being that whether you have a leesh or not (no caddy or clip) The
GasCap Caddy™ can work for you.

Of course, I hope to get the priving cheaper with my next run. Cutting
in half each time, based on quantity ordered, etc. etc. Being one
guy, and this being the introduction, it's also a matter of recuping
some investment until I can get the quanities rolling/working to reduce
    the overhead and price.

Take care, have a great new year.

Dumb ideas aren't worth 50 cents let along $9.50. My Chevy truck has a
holder built-in to the door. My minicans have the tether, but I've
never had a problem with scratches from the cap. Then again, I don't
leave it hanging and drive down the road either. :)

Even if I needed one, which I don't, I wouldn't buy it from someone who
    spams newsgroups.

My intentions are not SPAM, but to gain feedback from other owners - in
mass - about the likely hood/effectiveness this device may provide.
Newsgroups provide an excellent resource. Were my intentions
otherwise, I would not be replying to your message.

    Best wishes.

OK, here is my opinion. This device is not needed and is solving a
    problem that doesn't exist.

Thanks for the feedback. Of course, the paint on the hinge of my PT
Cruiser, from using it instead of some sort of caddy, tells me
differently. I appreciate the feedback, none the less. What model
Chrysler are you driving? Does it have a tether or something more?

    Regards.

To whom are you replying? It helps a lot of you quote at least a
snippet of the message you are replying to so that the right person can

    Much better! :)

I drive a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan and, until it was totaled two weeks
    ago, a 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager. I also own a 1994 Chevy K1500 which
has no tether, but a built-in holder on the door. I just bought a 2006
Hyundai Sonata to replace the Plymouth minivan and I haven't yet put gas
in it and can't remember if it has a tether or not as I've had the door
open only once to see how the latch worked.
