Took my 2001 Cruiser to the local garage to have a summer tire changeover. I
was told that I need front brake pads and both lower control arms, the bushings
are coming out. This vehicle has 27,600 miles on it.
I can see the brakes, Western Pa. has a lot of hills, you're always going down
    one.
But the control arms??? The mechanic told me that this is common in these
vehicles. They're the same as the Neon and it also has the same problem.
My question?? Should I get a second opinion? I can't see parts wearing out @
    27k.

If that were true, it would be under warranty.

No it wouldn't. It had a three year warranty that expired in August 2003.
