.....Due to engine head overheating, I removed the head on a 2008 Sebring 2.7L V6 and have them inspected and rebuilt at the shop. I got them back and installed the Right bank first with timing marks on the chain matching the timing marks on the camshafts sprockets and have a slight backlash when turning cam by hand.

When I installed the Left bank camshafts and torque the caps to required specs, there is binding WITHOUT any backlash when slightly turning the cams. (I believe that when removing the camshaft sprocket, because of tension on the cam lobes, the camshaft moved clockwise). Now, when I torque the caps, some lobes are resting on the rockers causing binding.

I appreciate any input you can give me.

    Thank you,

    Reuben
