Alternative parts supplier for Voyager in Australia

Discussion in 'Voyager' started by Colindownunder, Jul 29, 2004.

  1. Is there a Chryslers owners group in West Australia to support owners of
\Voyagers and the like who are sick of paying 400% more for parts than for
competing vehicles? If so, I would appreciate someone pointing me to them.

Alternatively, how does one get parts direct from overseas and are there any
generic alternative part suppliers for Chrysler.

If I can't find a way of getting affordable parts then I willhave to find a
convenient lake and drive the beast into it. I am finding the Voyager the
shortest living vehicle I have ever had the misfortune to own. At only six
years of light driving I am having transmission, chassis, radio and extras
problems at a steady rate and the parts are always many times more than for
competing vehicles. My 13 year old Mazda is still running on mostly original
    equipment.

Heh heh! A Mazda was a poor example to use as far as cost of repair
parts. Not disputing your commentrs about the minivan, as I've never
owned one, but price a simple motor mount for that Mazda. It will cost
over $200 in the U.S. where a similar one (very similar design and
materials) for, say, a Cadillac will cost around $35 to $45.
Similarly...ignition switch for a Mazda, over $200; ignition switch for
a Cadillac, $35 (those two are actual examples that I personally
experienced with an '87 Mazda and an '88 Cadillac that I used to own).

Good luck in finding a good low cost source for your minivan parts down
    under.
