I replaced my Air Filter today, also took out the housing to clean the
    battery terminal underneath.
I removed the Air Hose from the Upper part of the filter housing.
After reassembling I seem to have a rubber gasket that fits over the end of
the filter outlet but I cannot for the life of me figure out where it
belongs. It does not fit inside the hose to the air intake at the engine,
its too big. If I put it over the end of the outlet I cannot get the hose
    on.
I find that I get a good seal without it.
I know, I should have taken a photo or something.
Its sort of oval with a flange . I cant see it in my Chiltons etc.
    1. What is it, what is it for.
    2. Do I really need it, there are no air gaps that could foul up performance
    and she runs great.

    Helpppp
