97 Carv Serv Eng Soon lite on

I just installed new timing belt and at 111K miles the Service Eng. Soon
light came on. Does the light indicate anything in particular or is it
preset to Periodic Maintenance. Can I turn the light Off?

I have an OBD II scanner, which I have yet to ever use.

Any advice is welcome...and thanks!
