96 Chrysler town and country lxi 3.8 running hot

    I have replaced the thermostat,coolant/heat sensor,radiator flush(had stop leak in radiator),new hoses, radiator cap, and new water pump. Van starts perfectly fine and runs great, has no oil in water/water in oil. Sometimes i can drive it for 30 mins other times like last week for more than an hour with out it overheating. Has no AC what so over due to the fact the hoses are missing and it is not charged so it's never ever turned on. My question is does anyone know anything else it could be causing it to just randomly overheat? Also if and when it does over heat then it wont want to go into 2nd gear?! o_O
