'95 Caravan wet floor mats in rain (no air conditioner use)

Our 1995 Caravan recently was driven a few hours in a moderately hard
rain. The carpets were wet on both sides right next to the doors. On the
driver's side, it was wet from the front of the driver's door to at
least the rear of the driver's door. On the passenger side, it was wet
from the front of the passenger door at least to the rear of the sliding
door. I don't believe it was leaking through the doors and I wasn't
running the air conditioner (nor the defroster, which I realize would
    have run the air conditioner).

I mopped up a lot of the water with a towel. It rained all night, but
apparently no more water leaked into the car. The next day, while
driving, more water did apparently leak on both sides. It seemed to be
wetter in the front of the car, so I surmise it was leaking from the
wheel wells. (It was hard to be sure no water leaked over night, because
I couldn't dry the carpet out completely. It was similarly hard to be
sure the source was the wheel wells.)

Does anyone have advice on how to eliminate this leakage?

    Thanks.

Do your doors slosh when shaken?
    Bad/missing weather striping around door?
Plugged frame drains? Run hose into grill under front windshield.
Water should come out under front of door openings, not inside car.
