94 voyager LX 3.3 air bag light help

Discussion in 'Voyager' started by Larry and a cat named Dub, Oct 6, 2003.

  1. All of a sudden the air bag light came on and the rear wipers quit working.
I assume this is a bad connection somewhere . Has anyone else experienced
    this? Thanks for your help

Clockspring! Go to dealer and have it replaced free,
regardless of mileage, due to recall.

Yup, classic clockspring symptoms. It is a racall item.

I half agree - clockspring - definitely for the airbag light. As mentioned
    on a recall.
As for the rear wiper - it does not use the clockspring for anything - but
it is on another different recall - also should get fixed when you take it
in, provided it is not working when you take it in. The rear wiper usually
starts to blow its fuse when it gets to this age. The motor starts to draw
    too much current.

There is a recall in this regard. Go to the dealer and it will be fixed in
addition you may get a new rear wiper motor.

The dealer knows. I just called, described the problem and they
    said bring it in.

I called the dealer and after givin them mi information, they had me
in the computer, they told me that the recall was done on the van, but
then he said "this is strange acording with the computer it was
incompleted" so he told me to bring it in looks like the tech that did
the recall did not completed, but reported that was done.

Ok, The result of the inspection, turns out to be that the rear wiper
motor is bad. Since is on the same fuse the air bag is on that is the
reason the fuse is popping and the airbag light is lit. The recall was
done on the van before, but he explained to me that there are two
parts of the recall. The first part is to inspect it and if is good
they put some kind of tape on it, and the second part is to replace
the motor if it check out bad, They are going to replace the motor and
called it part of the recall. Now my next step is to check why the AC
stopped working at the same time!

My recomendation to the first person that started this Post is to take
it to the dealer and have it check the recall.

The Clockspring is not a recall but a Tecnical Bulletin the Rear Wiper
Motor is a Recall and it will pop the fuse, causing the airbag light
    to lit.

At least that is what the dealer service department personnel said.
