I have a '93 Grand Voyager with about 146k miles on it. It's developed
a terrible loud engine knock that is progressing. When it started
months ago, it was only when the engine got to normal temp but now it's
from the time you start it up and getting louder all the time. It
sounds like a diesel going down the road. Could it be a rod or maybe
an oil pump? It still runs great smooth with no loss of power.

    Thanks,

Like Glenn says, we need to know what engine you have.

    Since you have a Grand, you have a 3.0 or a 3.3. I don't know if the
3.8 was available for 1993. Early 3.3L engines had a problem of rocker
tower cracking upon reaching high mileage. This would create a knocking
    sound.

Without hearing the noise the most common problem was the rear rocker arm
tower breaking off. If the camshaft bearing spun it will prevent oil from
getting to the tower and causes this. you would have to remove the valve
cover and crank the engine to see if oil is getting to the tower. assuming
    this is your problem

    My opinion

Are spun cam bearings a problem with 2.7s as well?
