This one seems like it should be really easy but....

I am searching for lug studs for a '68 Newport with standard issue
front drum brakes. The closest thing I have been able to find is a
Napa part #641-1116 which looks to be exactly like the existing ones
but just barely goes right in to the holes instead of needing to be
    pressed in.

I've even tried the obsolete parts places only to be told to send them
the drum and hub and they will match them up. That doesn't seem like
a very economical idea to me.

Anyoen here know of a source for these elusive creatures? I don't
care if they are all right hand thread.

  2. Year One should have 'em, www.yearone.com or 1-800-950-9503 . But those
NAPA ones could be correct and your hub stud holes could be wallered out.

Also, the OP should be aware that the front studs need to be
swaged once they're pressed into place.

Under NO circumstances should the swaging be skipped, the wheel
mounted and the vehicle driven. The wheel will not torque up
    properly to the drum!

How many times does this make that you have saved my a#$? I didn't
    even think of Year One.

The originals fit perfectly so I don't think the holes are wallered
out. The knurl diameter on the Napa specs at .621. Year One shows
the spec at .650. Looks like it is time to place an order.

  5. I think before I ordered from Year One I'd hunt up my local
Dorman-Motormite dealer and have a look through their catalogue. Now that
you have the spec, it should be simple to find the ones you need. Even at
NAPA, which probably just has an error in their application guide.

I've never had any trouble finding wheel studs in any parts store. I'll
bet your hubs are indeed wallered out (Dan's been watching 'King of the
    Hill' again, I see) :)

That was actually common colloquial usage where I grew up (western PA)
long before anyone ever heard of KotH... I have to stop myself
sometimes from saying stuff like that... (and "needs warshed" etc.)
