I have a 2001 300m that I am obsessed with. I wash and wax it all the time.
Before my warranty expired I had a problem with the shiny black door panels
between the front and back door windows. Something and I don't know what
dis-colored those black panels. I know this is a problem because I see other
300m's with the same dis-coloration. The Intrepids don't have this problem
because those door panels are a lustre black and not a shiny black like the
300m. I had them replaced before the warranty expired and Chrysler said they
won't do it again. This is a problem Chrysler should address because now I have
55,000 miles and dont want to spend $500 to replace them again. Does anybody
know how to get them back to the original black??? Please e-mail me at

The 300M ezBoard has over 30 forums on specific subjects related to the
300M. One of those forums is "Black Trim and Weatherstripping".
Apparently it is a common problem for them to have a forum just for
that. However, unlike the other forums there which are very prolific,
there are only a handful of threads on that particular one, and the last
post was 11/1/03. My guess is they exhausted the subject, and that
hopefully means that there's some definitive information on the subject
    that you'll find helpful.

A couple more thoughts - I believe the area you are refering to is
called the B-pillar. I see that there is one thread with that in the
title. Just glancing thru it, it looks like they talk about several
products that have been tried and some that work. One is actually
called "Back to Black" (I thought that was noteworthy since
youspecifically said in your post "Does anybody
know how to get them **BACK** TO**to the original **BLACK**???" - my
emphasis). Also they mention specific year 300M's that have flat black
and some years that have gloss black.

Besides a paint job you might want to look at a product from Mother's ..
Think it is called Back to Black or something like that. Small red container
last time i looked. Does a decent job taking wax off of flat black plastic
items and other stuff. read directions before use to make sure it fits your
    needs.

I've seen some PTCruisers with the same problem.
