2008 PT Cruiser expert mechanic needed

I live in the Los Angeles area. I have and my cruiser to several mechanics who can’t seem to resolve my engine problem. We have replaced many a part but still not working. Dealers will not touch it even to diagnose the problem because of its age. Tired of replacing parts guessing how to fix. Now to the problem. Engine starts fine but idles very rough. When driving it goes just fine but then out of nowhere step on the gas and you got nothing no acceleration but the engine doesn’t die. At any second it may grab and accelerate like normal and drive for awhile just fine. Very intermittent. The engine doesn’t reve up like trans slipping and I had it rebuilt about a year or less ago. Desperately need a cruiser expert. Thanks for any help you can give.

It has been a while but I had same problem, or close to it on my 05 Cruiser touring convertible/turbo, 78k miles. . Basically had same problem but don't remember the rough idle. I believe I ended up sending my ECM (engine control module in and have it re-programmed. Then I followed their instructions about installing and hooking it up to all the multi plugs. I also replaced both oxygen sensors above and below catalytic converter.
Further, when going all over the engine I noticed loose wire (of three) in plug at top of engine near intake manifold. I ended up cutting wire, using small butt connectors and plugging those individually into the receptor on manifold.
