2004 Town & Country rear hatch will not lock

My wife informed me this morning that the rear hatch on our mini van will will not latch into the bracket therefore leaving it stuck in the open position. I did not have a chance to look at it yet because I had to go to work. I plan on investigating this afternoon when I get home. Any advice would be really be appreciated, thank you.

 

If you still have that problem then I would say its a problem related to hatch alignment. You need to realign the hatch. Because it's not going down and not shutting the hatch door. You can also check the lower seals because they also can be responsible for all that problem.
