I have (my wife) a 2004 PT cruiser turbo GT. I have had so few issues with this baby since I bought it brand new. in the last year things have caught up. We started getting oil leaks and puffs of white smoke on start-up. so we took it to a guy I have known for 25 years. we fixrd all the oil leaks and did the 100,000 mile service and I changed the plugs and wires and Radiator all within the last 5 months. it runs so bad now It's disgusting. burns a quart of oil every 5 days ( no driveway stains) and it doesn't puff smoke every day. I now get 4 error codes 442, 456, 300, 522 . now I did replace my gas cap with a locking one because we live in Miami and people are stealing gas from cars after the hurricane but I'm not sure what I should do from this point on. any points, tips, or advice would be greatly appreciated

Me too white smoke change, turbos sucking the oil

All this trouble just started last January. I started the car. It was billowing white smoke changed turbos still had the white smoke problem and then it started missing backfiring and falling on its face just like it ran out of gas but if I matched the accelerator, it would take offand then it was down to running on three cylinders. I had it to the shop twice over $500 problem not cured. Vacuum leaks were fixed.
So this is what my dad has done to this car so far !! all the sensors have been replaced, 02 Mine has both upstream and downstream, Map sensor PVC, EGR except the cam & crank and all grounds have been cleaned new ignition coil new plugs, new wires the new coil fixed the dead cylinder. I just didn’t know what to do the thing about it. When it falls on its face it doesn’t do it the same every time I Isn’t like it starts up you drive a block it happens. It may not happen an entire day or it’ll happen two or three times and it’s not a safe situation. I can’t imagine the computer needing replaced and even if I got a used one, you have to take it to Chrysler to have it programmed. I had a heart attack. I’m not on disability yet and I don’t have the money, but I gotta have a car to get to my Dr appts dad‘s been taking me but he’s 85. I need help. I need a Chrysler mechanic give me information. Thank you so much.
