Hi, I will be replacing my gasket on the trans solenoid but need to remove the TCM to do this. The cover for the TCM connector looks like it has 3-4 clips. Looks like they should just slide. Can someone tell me how to uinclip these? I do not want to break them.

    Thanks

Hi, after looking at it closer there was a bolt lower down that just needed to be removed. The cover did not need to come off. Once I removed the TCM I removed the backing plate it was mounted to aswell so I could get the solenoid out from the engine bay. It was only 3 screws and pried out some electrical connector bc attached to it. I used a used extensions and a flex head to get the solenoid bolt off. Other 2 you can do with extensions one the sensor is removed. Sensor came out with a 1” deep socket. Since it was dirty I used a crew driver to remove the sensor connector. Put screwdriver in the tab in the side and pulled it out. Hardest part is cleaning gasket surfaces using a razor blade. Note to get the solenoid loose pry on the solenoid by left bolt hole about 1/2 inch below the top on bolt hole. You cannot pry it any lower as will not budge.
