1997 Cirrus Instruments

Here's a cute problem (not) --

The tach does not register, and the odometer and transmission gear indicator
lights on the instrument panel don't work either. Odd thing is,
intermittantly these three instruments will start working while driving, and
continue to work until the car is shut off -- then it's back to the non
operation condition.

Road vibration has no effect, as I have seen these lights come on when the
vehicle is sitting still. Automatic transmission and 4 cyl engine.

Any thoughts????
