1993 2.2L Dodge Shadow 2 issues

    1. Very loud squealing sound. I tried spraying WD40 on one wheel that
    guides/moves the belts, and it stops, but starts again within minutes.
    Would changing the belts fix this? I am thinking it is the belt that
    connects to the alternator as the battery indicator moves up and down.

    2. There is a persistant ticking sound. I have heard about *lifter
    tick* and that it probably is not a major thing, other than the
    annoyance of the tick.

    Any input/suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.
